This was originally meant for HandmAid two years ago, and I finally finished it last week. Instead of going to HandmAid though, a friend has snatched it up for her kids.. sorry HandmAid :)

2 Pairs of Socks Sun, 2013-08-11 17:37

I know it's Summer and all.. but Winter is coming ;)

First pattern are the Kalajoki socks, second are a pattern called Leyburn - and both are free to download from Ravelry.

Choo Choo! Sun, 2013-05-26 23:29

Found some cute train fabric on sale in Hickey's a while ago and decided to make a blanket for my friend's kids. First time sewing a blanket and using batting and it worked quite well - hopefully they'll get some good use out of it!

Outdoors Tue, 2013-05-21 13:09

A weekend spent outdoors: horse riding on Three Rock mountain on Saturday and I rode my bike to Howth (and back :) on Sunday because the weather was just too nice to stay in!

Pinoli Cardigan Mon, 2013-05-13 21:05

Quite pleased with myself about this one :) It fits! And it has a hood and a zip - what more could a cardigan need? Oh, and it's red :)

Belville Sun, 2013-04-28 18:46

This has been finished (and worn.. a lot..) for about two months now, but finally got around to taking pictures today on our trip to Howth. Much thanks to Lilly for the photos!

This is turning out to be my favourite handknit jumper so far!

Baby Knits Sat, 2012-12-15 12:57

Back at the end of August when I first met baby Bruce I of course brought him a few handknits to keep him warm this Winter (or next Winter... they might be a bit big for now :) I love the baby overalls, such a cute pattern - made even more adorable by the little elephant chart I found to put on it.

Cushendale Sun, 2012-11-18 19:27

Great trip to the Cushendale Woollen Mills in Co. Kilkenny this weekend. The owner was really nice and showed us around and answered all our nosy questions about "what does this do?" and "what's this for?" Amazing to see all the equipment for dying, spinning, weaving, and everything else that goes on there. Not to mention the enormous quantities of yarn and fibre just casually lying around the place. Thanks B. for organizing this roadtrip to Graig-na-managh!

Home! Wed, 2012-08-29 20:03

I spent a few days at home this week, and it was great! Managed to see my best friend, meet her cute wee little one who turned 1 month a few days ago. Got the chance to re-introduce myself to her oldest, who is finally old enough to say my name - he might even recognize me next time I visit.. Took both kids to an amazingly awesome indoor playground for a few hours to have an excuse to climb on the bouncy castles, jump on the trampolines and fly down the slides myself :) He had great fun too of course..

And inbetween all these exhausting activities I got to spend some time with my sister (that purple knitting is the Little Sister dress she's making, it's doty!) and my parents. There was chocolate biscuit cake (as there should be), and a game of cards (I won ;) and it was my dad's birthday (sort of, we pretended it was..)

All in all a great week!

Penguin Top Sat, 2012-07-28 12:32

I've had this tshirt for about 10 years now, and still love it - but it accumulated some unfortunate stains over the years and wasn't wearable anymore. Turns out you can turn an old tshirt into a tank top as explained here: sozowhatdoyouknow.blogspot.co.uk/p/free-patterns.html - and what do you know - it worked!

Thanks to H. from hazwoolwillknit.blogspot.ie/ for the suggestion!

Summer Badminton Mon, 2012-07-23 15:09

Entered a badminton tournament on Saturday for some fun, and whey-yay - me and my randomly assigned partner won the division 8 mixed! Got a medal and everything! ;) Don't we look proud :D

Exhausting though..

Dara O'Briain Sat, 2012-07-14 11:41

We went to Vicar Street last night to see Dara O'Briain - it was excellent!

Had never been to Vicar Street before, definitely a weird venue.. very cozy :)

Spinning with a View Thu, 2012-06-14 15:45

We're spending a week in a cottage in Connemara, and I had the genius idea to bring my spinning wheel (actually, I think it might have been N. who planted the idea in my head?). It's great! Instead of looking at the wall in our living room while spinning, my spinning wheel got some nice views this week. The weather was nice enough for some outdoor spinning - with a view of the coast just a stone's throw from here; and in the evening it got a bit chilly so the spinning wheel was moved to the living room where we had a cozy fire going. Perfect.

Cookie Cutters Mon, 2012-05-14 20:21

When my sister was visiting over the weekend we got to try our new cookie cutters! They worked really well, except that our icing-skills leave a little to be desired, so we had to improvise a wee bit :)

Sewing Classes Tue, 2012-05-01 20:19

The Sewing Room has recently started sewing classes at The Constant Knitter, and I figured this was a good opportunity to learn a bit more about sewing than making box bags. Theresa is a great teacher, and students can make whatever they want in the class (because she can make anything without even having to think about it!). So I wanted to make a pair of trousers, but since that seemed rather complicated I decided to make pyjama bottoms first - with cute little elephants on them! It took me two classes to finish these, but they have French seams, an elastic waist band and back pockets! Wearing them proudly :)
